The Houston Rockets have pulled their matched offer sheet to Donatas Motiejunas and have signed him to a new four-year, $35 million deal.
Houston matched the Brooklyn Nets’ four-year, $37 million offer sheet signed by Motiejunas that became a four-year, $31 million deal because of lost bonuses.
Motiejunas broke restricted free agency convention by not reporting for his physical this week.
The parameters of the new deal are similar to the one Motiejunas signed with the Nets with only one season fully guaranteed. Motiejunas will receive $8.3 million in guaranteed money this season and the Rockets will own a team option in each July over the next three years.
Another improved aspect of the deal from the Rockets’ perspective is Motiejunas can be traded within three months without his consent.
