Boeing has won a contract worth more than $24 million to expand the capabilities of all Apache attack helicopter AH-64E configurations, the Department of Defense said in a press release.

Apache AH-64 helicopters are being used to provide tactical air support to Iraq forces struggling to retake the city of Mosul from Daesh.

“The Boeing Company [of] Mesa, Arizona, was awarded a $24.9 million… contract for manned and unmanned teaming expanded compatibility on all Apache attack helicopter AH-64E configurations.” In October, Boeing was reported to be in negotiations with the US Department of Defense to provide the US Army with 275 more AH-64E Apache helicopters under a $3 billion contract.
