South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who advocates for stricter immigration laws and a ban on abortions, has accepted an offer of President-elect Donald Trump to become next US ambassador to the United Nations, local media reported Wednesday.
The decision is going to be announced by Trump’s team later in the day, The Post and Courier news outlet reported. Haley, 44, became the first female governor of South Carolina in 2011 and is now the youngest governor in the United States.

In May, Haley signed a bill banning abortions in the state at 20 weeks beyond fertilization. She is also known for advocating for stricter immigration legislation.
On November 8, Trump came ahead of his rival Hillary Clinton in the US presidential election, securing at least 290 electoral votes despite most of the analysts and opinion polls predicting his defeat. Now his team is forming the future Cabinet.
